PRIMARY FUNCTION: Maintain all equipment within the facility to ensure operation at optimal levels.
EXTERNAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Ability to read and comprehend equipment manuals and schematics.
- Understanding and demonstrated ability to apply troubleshooting techniques.
- Industrial Maintenance Degree Preferred and/or equivalent experience.
- Installation, modification and fabrication of equipment and systems to meet production requirements.
- Troubleshoot using a working knowledge or programmable controllers, electronics and circuit analysis.
- Troubleshoot using a working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Welding and fabrication as necessary for repairs and / or projects.
- Installation and replacement of motors, pumps, bearings and seals.
- Capability to utilize and read measuring devices.
- Working knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Repair and maintain buildings (plant 1, plant 2) and property.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible to ensure that building, equipment and production machinery are maintained in a safe operating condition meeting uptime requirements.
- Assist in the installation of new equipment in accordance with established company procedures and plans.
- Communicate the use of spare parts and materials in accordance with prescribed procedures to ensure inventory levels are adequate to support production.
- Execute preventative maintenance assignments for all assigned equipment. Keep records of repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
- Support mold/tool changes as required.
- Practice 5S in and around work areas.
- Actively participate in the problem solving of all equipment related downtime issues.
- Work as part of a team to ensure on-time quality product to our customers (internal and external).
- Incorporate safe working procedures into all daily activities in and around facility.
- Understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Comply with company rules, policies, and practices.
- Abide by all HSE&E requirements.
- Other tasks as assigned by supervisor or any other member of management.
SAFETY
- Know and follow established job specific and facility wide health and safety procedures and rules
- Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management’s attention or correct those they can.
- Actively participate in accident, injury and illness prevention activities by:
- Identifying and correcting hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Developing, or participating, in job safety analysis and safe working procedures.
- Conducting, or assisting, in accident, near-miss accident or potential hazard investigations.
- Keep other employees aware of health and safety practices and activities by actively observing fellow employee work practices and incorporating safety.
- Maintain housekeeping in work area.
- Maintain health and safety equipment in good working order.
- Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
- Participate actively in providing suggestions for the health and safety program improvement.
- Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in their work area.
- Participates in formal involvement team activities. Supports all departmental and organizational improvement initiatives in order to achieve business objectives.
- Participate in TS 16949/ ISO 14001 activities or any other organizational certifications as needed
- Must participate in and successfully complete required training
- Other tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Manager
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, use of hands to inspect parts, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talking and hearing. Employee will occasionally lift and/or move product. Developmental training will be defined by the Department Manager and could be in-house or external to the company.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Able to work any shift with overtime, possibly on short notice
- Ability to travel, possibly overnight (<5% of the time), for offsite support or learning and development initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), organizational, and time management skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to participate in and successfully complete required training for this position, as defined by site requirements.
