Shift: 2nd Shift Hours ~ 2:30 pm to 11 pm

Reports To: Manufacturing Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Mid- level maintenance/ electrical technician in automotive manufacturing facility. Position will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical/electrical equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, production machines, pumps, material handling equipment, blending/mixing systems, stamping presses, robotic equipment, etc.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic/hydraulic problems on all plant equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner to the highest quality standards.
  • Daily reporting of all work performed – effective shift pass downs and log book entries.
  • Confers with engineering staff to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Perform all tasks in accordance with company safety and GMP policies/guidelines.
  • Generate parts request and help to maintain adequate inventory organization and help maintain accurate stock status
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment at all times
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Mechanical Skills (including but not limited to):

  • Ability to work safely. Maintain safe work environment; communicate issues and take corrective actions when safety issues arise. Strong understanding of OSHA safety guidelines. Execute and maintain safety procedures in order to eliminate all accidents.
  • Must have experience working on pneumatic systems, piping and pump systems, conveyors, gear boxes, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment in accordance with the established schedule that is determined and assigned by the department manager. Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed.
  • Overhaul, dismantle, and reassemble equipment.
  • Proficient with shop equipment (mill, lathe, surface grinder, etc.) Preferred
  • Tig/Mig welding experience Preferred
  • Fabrication experience Preferred

Electrical Skills (including but not limited to):

  • Industrial electrical experience along with the ability to diagnose electrical motors and controls.
  • Troubleshooting PLC based equipment.
  • Allen Bradley PLC experience Preferred
  • Knowledge of ladder logic.
  • Control wiring, motor control, and relay experience.
  • Install all types of wiring and main service drops to equipment.
  • Knowledge of motor controls, photo eyes, and proximity sensors.

Additional Skills Required

  • Install improvements to equipment to enhance quality, safety, or increase of production.
  • Read and understand electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and equipment drawings and manuals.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all production areas and shop.
  • Ability to make continuous process improvements.
  • Familiar with Six Sigma and 5S work practices.
  • Self-motivated, open minded, intuitive team player with a good working attitude and good interpersonal skills, and a solid work ethic.
  • PC proficient using MS Office.
  • Capable of working without direct supervision, capable of following verbal and written instructions with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work independently as well as efficiently in a team environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school (required).
  • Industrial maintenance Associates degree Preferred
  • 2 years experience in a production manufacturing environment Preferred
  • Must be able to complete forklift and man lift certifications

PHYSICAL DIMENSIONS:

  • Exerting up to (50) pounds for force often, and/or up to (20) pounds of force frequently, up to (75) pounds on occasion, and/or up to (10) pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 – $30.00 per hour
