Job Summary:
The Fiber Splicing Manager oversees the intricate tasks involved in installing and maintaining fiber optics, which includes performance and fusion splicing as well as testing. They are responsible for ensuring the quality of buried and aerial optic facilities by supervising the final outcome of contractor and/or in-house work, and carrying out activation-related duties.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provides quality construction management surrounding the Company values
- Conducts regular field inspections of buried and aerial fiber splicing layout to ensure work quality control and adherence to technical specifications
- Assists in the development of splicing plans and estimates future use of the fiber plant
- Documents the work process by submitting daily reports of completed work
- Maintains continuing construction and layout guides to ensure work quality control
- Ensures the timely completion of work and the adherence to quality guideline

Salary Range: $75K – $85K
Qualifications
- Some travel required
- Experience in underground and aerial fiber optic splicing is required
- Technical training in an industry-related trade certification or education program is preferred
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental protection practices and procedures as they apply to related construction processes
- Proficient in the use of hand tools and equipment utilized in splicing fiber
- Ability to operate company vehicles and properly tow/back-up trailers
- Solid understanding of current construction practices and familiarity with construction documents
- Proven ability to guide safe work practices in a high-pressure environment while maintaining project quality, schedule, and budget
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple project stakeholders, interpret stakeholders’ needs, and identify solutions
- Must be capable of handling logistics and crew assignments
- Experience operating and performing work in a bucket truck, man-lift, etc.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including the ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions (hot, cold, rain, snow, and sleet) and perform work on uneven surfaces
- Ability to work with little supervision while following safety policies and procedures, wearing required personal protective equipment, and adding to a safe and positive team environment is a must
- Prior supervision or management experience is a bonus
