Toyotomi America Corporation (TAC) in Springfield, KY manufactures metal stampings for the OEM Automotive Industry. Summary/Objective (role description):

Provide design support for new product launches.

Essential Functions (duties and tasks summary):

Team members must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential functions of the role which may include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Identify correct stamping line for RFQ and awarded parts
  2. Develop blank size for RFQ and awarded parts
  3. Develop Process plans for RFQ and awarded parts
  4. Approve tooling designs for outsources dies
  5. Conduct SE activity for RFQ and awarded parts
  6. Conduct CAE analysis for RFQ and awarded parts
  7. Develop casting designs for RFQ and awarded parts
  8. Develop strip layouts for RFQ and awarded parts
  9. Track tooling status internal and external dies.
  10. Coordinate customer/Vendor meetings and visits.
  11. Submit required documents to customer/Vendor.
  12. Tracking projects to maintain schedule.
  13. Conduct productivity improvements in stamping and tooling
  14. Support and Track internal trials.
  15. Control of ISO documentation of Engineering Department for tooling.
  16. Assist stamping, maintenance and T&D in problem resolution
  17. Must be willing to travel to Japan       .
  18. Must be flexible and able to work in all areas and in your department regardless of

       duties listed above in order to accomplish TAC goals and objectives

 

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Technical Competencies

  • Knowledge of stamping equipment and die design.
  • Knowledge of materials and parts stamping processes.
  • Knowledge of tooling and production equipment capabilities.
  • Knowledge of quality control standards.
  • Proficient personal computer and software skills including CAD.
  • Knowledge of press equipment operation and troubleshooting when related to transfer, tandem and Hypro lines
  • Knowledge of basic electricity or equivalent. Helpful if able to read blueprints, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatics schematics and circuit diagrams and use measurement instruments and gauges. Should be skilled in the use of various types of hand tools and power equipment used in carpentry or general construction.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to conditions of heat in the summer and cold in the winter and will work near moving mechanical parts. Uniform clothing and PPE provisions are provided by the company and are designed to assist with these conditions. Team members are also exposed to noise, which may require the use of hearing protection in certain areas.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work (example):

This is a full-time shift-work position. Overtime is required as needed to meet customer demand and may involve weekend work.

Education and Experience: 

  • Technical degree and four (4) or more years of experience in related field, tool and die journeyman card or equivalent combination of education and experience
