Job Summary:

An inventory control associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that the warehouse operates efficiently. They coordinate with other departments to ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to meet demand and that products are stored and handled in compliance with Alltech Quality System (AQS) requirements. The inventory control associate also operates receiving incoming shipments, releases finished products from quarantine, and works to continuously improve inventory management processes.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining inventory records.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to manage inventory levels and coordinate with other departments.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and technology to track inventory levels and movements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and other departments.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to optimize inventory management processes.
  • Adaptability and problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges and changes in inventory levels.

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that the warehouse operates efficiently.
  • Coordinating with other departments to ensure that inventory levels are sufficient to meet demand.
  • Operating receiving incoming shipments and releasing finished products from quarantine.
  • Ensuring that products are stored and handled in compliance with Alltech Quality System (AQS) requirements.
  • Continuously monitoring and improving inventory management processes to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyzing data to optimize inventory operations and reduce costs.
  • Communicating with clients, vendors, and team members to ensure smooth inventory operations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field, preferred.
  • Flexibility to work weekends or overtime as needed
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a warehouse environment, with experience in inventory control management.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management software and inventory tracking systems
  • Experience with forklift and pallet jack operation is preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft AX 2012 or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is strongly preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be physically able to operate motor vehicle and forklift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperature and noise levels
