Summary/Objective (role description):

Provide technical Engineering support to the E-coat Paint Lines.

Essential Functions (duties and tasks summary):

Team members must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodations, the essential functions of the role which may include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Track tooling and equipment status.
  2. Coordinate customer meetings and visits when pertaining to the e-coat(paint) process.
  3. Monitor e-coat paint lines for proper function.
  4. Tracking of the activities to reduce scrap and defect improvements.
  5. Perform paint trials for optimum e-coat conditions for a variety of different parts hanging methods.
  6. Control of ISO documentation of the paint engineering department.
  7. Provide CAD dimensions and data for vendors of new part hangers.
  8. Track and order all inventory required to maintain the e-coat (paint) process.
  9. Oversee the function and maintaining the wastewater treatment equipment.
  10. Oversee the preventive maintenance program for the e-coat process.
  11. Develop and maintain the paint departments budget.
  12. Train and oversee the daily task of the paint techs and paint lab testing.
  13. Ensure compliance with all required part quality and wastewater testing.
  14. Must be flexible and able to work in all areas and in your department regardless of duties listed above in order to accomplish TAC goals and objectives

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Technical degree and two (2)or more years’ experience in the e-coat paint field, and a high school diploma or G.E.D., or equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. Technical Competencies
  • Knowledge of e-coat (paint) process.
  • Knowledge of lab testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Continuous improvement and ability to problem solve and scrap and defect reduction.
  • Proficient personal computer and software skills including CAD.
  • Knowledge of complex pumping, valving, and piping.

Work Environment (example):

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to conditions of heat in the summer and cold in the winter and will work near moving mechanical parts. Uniform clothing and PPE provisions are provided by the company and are designed to assist with these conditions. Team members are also exposed to noise, which may require the use of hearing protection in certain areas.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work (example):

This is a full-time shift-work position. Overtime is required as needed to meet customer demand and may involve weekend work.

Qualifications: Travel 20%

a) Inside US travel required

b) Outside US travel required/Passport required

Education and Experience: 

  • Technical degree and four (4) or more years of experience in related field, combination of education and experience.
